Round Island Lighthouse
Round Island , Michigan - Built in 1896
Round Island Lighthouse is probably the most viewed lighthouse
in Michigan. Every summer ferries bound for Mackinac Island
pass by the lighthouse everyday. The lighthouse was
automated in 1924 and then abandoned in the late 1940's.
Today the lighthouse has been restored and once again
serves as an active navigational aid. |

White River Light Station Lighthouse
Whitehall, Michigan - Built in 1875
This beautiful lighthouse is located on the White River Channel
overlooking Lake Michigan. This lighthouse now serves as a maritime museum
with an impressive artifacts collection.

Holland Harbor Lighthouse
Holland, Michigan - Built in 1907
The lighthouse has a gabled roof that reflects the Dutch influence in the area.
The lighthouse, referred to as "Big Red", was automated in 1932. |

Grand Haven Lights
Grand Haven, Michigan - Built in 1839 and 1905
Two pier lighthouses mark the entrance from Lake Michigan to the
entrance of the Grand River.They are known as the Grand Haven South
Pier Inner Light and the Grand Haven South Pierhead Light. They stand several
hundred feet apart on a long stone pier with a long catwalk which joins both lights
and connects them to the shore. This catwalk was built for the safety of the
keepers who manned this post. These pierhead lighthouses are situated in
Grand Haven State Park which affords a nice relaxing afternoon of swimming or camping. |

Old Mission Point Lighthouse
Traverse City , Michigan - Built in 1870
This is a small beautiful lighthouse whose tower stands at 36 feet.
It is located on a peninsula 17 miles north of Traverse City.
The lighthouse was decommissioned in 1933 and the property
was purchased after World War II by the State of Michigan.
The lighthouse is now part of the Peninsula Township Park. |

Forty Mile Point Lighthouse
Rogers City, Michigan - Built in 1897
This beautifully preserved lighthouse is located in Presque Isle
County's Lighthouse Park. The grounds are beautiful and well
maintained and make a nice area to spend an afternoon. This lighthouse is also
included in the Alpena, Michigan lighthouse festival tour each fall which
is the world's largest lighthouse festival. |

Sturgeon Point Lighthouse
Harrisville, Michigan
Built in 1869
Sturgeon Point Lighthouse was built in 1869 to warn mariners of a deadly reef that extends out
from Sturgeon Point. This lighthouse would aid transport into and out of Saginaw Bay with its
classic 3½ order Fresnal lens. Its beam is visible from a distance of 18 miles out to sea.
By the 1940's the light was fully automated and it remains an active aid to navigation to this day.
The keepers dwelling is now an excellent maritime museum.
